The Workhorse Racing V8 Ute currently competes in the highly competitive V8 Ute national series and is the prime support category for the V8 Supercars.

The engineering and dedication required for motor racing is often carried over to developing innovative solutions for the Workhorse business.

V8 Utes Background

The Australian V8 Ute Racing Category was conceived in 2000 and launched March 2001 at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide. The series was a smash from the start and a favourite with race fans. Now, 32 cars—16 Ford and 16 Holden V8 Utes, make up the entire field with its drivers promoted with showbiz flair—the introduction of driver ‘nicknames’ is unique with the V8 Utes in Australia. The Ute's are production based with limited modifications and extremely close lap times, making for some serious on track 'bump 'n grind.'

Ben "The Bull” Kavich was born with racing in his blood and has been racing competitively since he was nine. Ben Kavich is currently in his third series year of V8 Utes and within that short period has made a huge impact. Prior to V8 Utes, Ben at age 15, was the youngest driver at the time to receive a CAMS racing license. His motor racing apprenticeship served successfully in the ever popular and competitive HQ Holden category, then progressed to Formula Ford - the launching pad to touring car success. He has also competitively raced and managed his own vehicles in a range of motorsport categories. Ben is supported by brother Michael Kavich as Team Manager.
